Class Descriptions:
TOWER 1 = Beginner
This Mat/Tower class uses the basic Pilates exercise vocabulary in a well-rounded workout to train coordination, centering, breath, control, and concentration. Students will learn new exercises, add resistance work with springs, expand the Pilates vocabulary, and become better at performing the Pilates movements with flow.
TOWER 2 = Intermediate
This Mat/Tower class is for students who are experienced and strong in their Pilates – who are now fine-tuning pelvic and shoulder stability, oppositional energy, spinal articulation, and overall uniform development. This class affords the opportunity to explore the full sequence of Pilates at a vigorous tempo.
MEN’S TOWER 1
Pure Pilates is now offering a Tower class for men! Pilates was developed by a man, Joseph Pilates, and was taught as a strict conditioning regime to the German army during WWI. The Pilates Method of Body Conditioning is perfect for injury prevention and body conditioning. Pilates will improve your golf swing, improve your form in the weight room, sculpt your abs, and loosen tight shoulders & hips. Although men are welcome in all our classes, this special class is for men only and is designed with men’s specific needs in mind.
Class Sign-Up Procedures
- All classes are limited to 3 students.
- Students must sign up and pay for class at least one (1) day in advance.
- There will be no class, if no one signs up and pays in advance.
- There will be a $20 surcharge for a class with 1 student.
- Walk-in students will only participate if class is held and space is available.
- Pilates exercises are sequenced in a way that warms up the muscles and minimizes the risk of injury; accordingly, students arriving more than 5 minutes late will not be admitted once the class begins.
